The creative impulse behind our collections is often borne from literature or art. This season, we sought inspiration from American artist Georgia O’Keeffe’s Lake George Reflection (painted in 1921-22), in particular the dramatization and abstraction of nature, with its emotion-evoking vibrant colours, as well as the simultaneous use of analogous colours to reduce tension and maintain balance. Seen as a landscape, the painting depicts colourful yet calming rolling hills and water in a mirror-like cross section, whereas viewed vertically, it morphs into a powerful, abstract image that could resemble a magnified flower, or an imposing skyscraper.
Inspired by the artist’s experimental thought process, we sought to build a collection based on O' Keefe's palette, juxtaposing uniquely ‘Surian’ elements with current design trends. We hope you will be able to relate to personal experiences via the richness of colour, silhouette and texture, and appreciate the versatility of our designs, made to work with your wardrobe and lifestyle.
