Just as an artist would begin with the basic elements of art – line, shape, form, colour, texture, space and perspective, this season we take a breather from the prevalent Y2K aesthetics and its excess of pop culture and ultra-consumerism, and go back to classic silhouettes as basic forms.
We re-visit popular styles, tweaking and improving them to become flattering investment pieces for your wardrobe.
A visibly minimal collection, we cut out conventionally girly motifs such as lace, tulle, patterns, bows and ruffles and celebrate modern femininity in all its softness, structure, fluidity and focus.
Note from Cerine, designer of The Surian
There is always an emphasis on clean, sharp cuts, humble yet beautiful fabrics. Staples that are timeless. Signature matching separates that will do the styling work for you. Styles that always come at a fair price.
There is a fair share of white, blush, mint, caramel...– summer colours that we all love. We infuse the collection with just a bit of fun. You may notice some whimsical colours, oversized collars, and spherical or cocoon-like shapes that silently scream surrealism.
